Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Third Edition. Everything you need to know to head out on a mountain adventure, from map reading to essential equipment, alpine camping & cooking, planning trips, navigating trails & rock climbing, desert & alpine treks, & "climbing miseries" & first aid treatment thereof. In 136 pages, illustrated with line drawings throughout, suggestions for further reading in rear. Orig. published in 1961 & in a second edition in 1965, this is the Third Edition (third printing) from 1972, with the text expanded from 118-135 pages & major revisions to some chapters. From right here in San Diego where it was published, this paperback small 8vo has a red cloth-wrapped spine, stapled binding, & red paper wrappers decorated & lettered in black & white to front. Condition is VG+: completely clean & unmarked, binding secure, slight fraying to cloth at head of spine & minor corner bumping, light creasing to front cover.
