This copy is SIGNED by the Author on the free front endpaper and dated in 1993 (no inscription). Text and endpapers otherwise immaculate. In addition there is an article/review of the book photocopied from The Japan Times dated April 11, 1991 (in English). Oseko was a Japanese tour guide who spent seven years writing this definitive text of Basho. This edition includes translations of 330 of the poet's writings into English, and provides useful grammatical and interpretive hints and references for their interpretation.
