Includes preface by Brander Matthews and selections from Roman poets like Horace and Catullus through Ben Jonson, Robert Burns, Leigh Hunt, Sir Walter Scott, Austin Dobson and many others. xx, 157 pp. Ex-library with a few stamps, missing front endpaper, but otherwise tight and clean in brown cloth, no dust jacket as issued.

Page-edges are rough cut and darkened with some creases to corners, some pages are short in length due to manufacture. Pencil name to half-title page. Light dark flecking to a few top margins o/w pages generally very clean. A well-used but sound copy.
