Gift message in ink to the front free endpaper and the pages are slightly browned with a faint musty smell but they are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has a half-inch closed tear to the top right corner of the front panel and another to the bottom edge near the bottom left corner. There are three one inch closed tears at the top and bottom of the spine which has a little chipping. There is some discolouration to the rear panel which has two small closed tears to the bottom edge. First printing.
