The first edition bound in a plain brown dust jacket printed in blue, over blue cloth boards printed in black. The first edition with no additional printing noted on the copyright page. Leacock wrote this volume during the Great Depression with the intention of influencing Canada to increase trade with The British Empire in order to find a way out of the economic disaster the depression caused. The work highlights Leacock's perspective on economic policy. This is a very good copy with a stamp of a star on the bottom edge. The top edge has some soiling and the fore edge has light foxing. The jacket has light sunning, soiling, edge wear. Still, it is more than presentable. It is protected with a Brodart cover. There is a stamp on the free endpaper indicating this copy was presented compliments of Senator Lorne C. Webster. Webster was a member of the Senate from 1920 to 1941.
