Four short stories with much use of Negro dialect. 228 pp. Frontispiece and 13 other b/w illustrations by A. B. Frost. Bound in dark green cloth and decorated on the front cover with a bouquet of light green bamboo-like stems and leaves that, at the top half of the cover, form a frame anchored by four gold floral forms for lettering in gold. The spine has a similar device and gold lettering. The cover includes the monogram of the Decorative Designers. This copy has a name in pencil on the inside front cover and a very small blemish on the front cover in the lettering frame (not affecting the design and not instantly apparent). There is a little wear at spine and corner extremities, but overall the book is in very good condition.
