Assorta è una silloge poetica composta da duecentodieci poesie, suddivise in ventuno capitoli, più un numero zero dal titolo Il principio, contenente la poesia più datata, che, scritta in età adolescen-ziale, ha accompagnato anche l'età adulta, rappresentando quasi una sorta di poetica. Il tema principale dell'intera opera, nata in quanto assorta, è lo stato d'animo che scaturisce dal vivere quoti-dianamente, a volte con una routine im-posta da qualcun altro, una vita che non ci appartiene. L'annichilimento predo-mina l'esistenza, lasciando spazio solo per brevi istanti ad altri sentimenti. Le poesie, alcune molto brevi e per questo chiamate frammenti, altre un po' meno poetiche e perciò più simili a prosa, altre ancora più somiglianti a semplici pen-sieri, sono raggruppate, soprattutto nella prima parte, in base alla tematica, mentre, nella seconda, per forma stili-stica.
