Brown wraps with light toning and edgewear, tape ghost along entire vertical length of the spine. Staplebound; staples secure, with heavy rust formation beginning to stain and push on covers. Binding sound. Pages lightly toned, text unmarked.

Complete run of The Arkham Sampler, eight issues total bound into two volumes with original covers bound in, and with the bookplates of noted science fiction collector and book dealer Stephen J. Takacs. Includes eight issues in each volume with an index at the end of the 1949 volume. A tour de force in horror and fantasy fiction, with one issue dedicated to science fiction. Each issue was limited to 1200 copies except the sci-fi issue which was limited to 2000. Blue buckram cloth with gilt spine lettering, original color covers (front and back) bound in and in about fine condition. The two volumes are in very good condition with light edge rubbing, a few very tiny light speckles to the spines, good hinges, firm text block, lightly age-toned and clean pages, Takacs' sci-fi themed bookplates inside each front cover, no other names or markings. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

All spines and interior cover hinges have been glued or tape repaired to some degree. Covers are chipped and worn, some soil. Winter 1948 has larger chips missing all around front cover. Spines are also worn, many with large pieces missing and tape repaired, but text blocks are all intact. Text pages are clean.
