Il s'agissait non plus d'un luxueux in-folio mais d'un « petit livre commode », illustré de 11 planches avec leur explication et suivi d'un glossaire « des mots difficiles », vocabulaire de base de l'architecture (abaque, métope, bossage, triglyphe, etc.).
