Publisher?s printed wrappers in various colors an each with a colored strip down the middle. Staples a but rust but very good overall. No copies located by OCLC (but we know from other sources that it went to at least a fifth volume).Francis Clive-Ross was a respected and erudite occultist but he retained some healthy skepticism and believed that there was a good deal of fraud or self-deception in Spiritualism and psychical research. Clive-Ross was the proprietor of the Aquarian Press until 1961 (he died in 1981). Clive-Ross became editor of the long-established Spiritualist journal Light. Under his editorship, the journal expanded its scope to include articles on occultism, comparative religion, and parapsychology, some of them highly critical and skeptical. The readership grew tired of his skepticism so he resigned and formed formed Perennial Books to specialize in metaphysics, philosophy, and religion. He is best known for being the founder, editor-in-chief and publisher of Studies in Comparative Religion.
