The author provides a detailed description of the Alps as they cover Switzerland, Germany, France and Italy, including the mountains, the people, activities, homes, flora and fauna. Neate I13. The author, mountaineer and teacher, took a number of pupils climbing in the Alps, the most famous being Mallory. He later wrote a number of mountaineering books including A History of British Mountaineering, Ten Great Mountains, etc. A picture of this book is available on request.
