Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Alien, novelization by Alan Dean Foster. Warner Books, 1979. Lacks dust jacket. Hardcover Book: Very Good +; Book: Very Good; Dark blue cloth boards are clean and structurally sound, showing light surface rubbing and minor handling wear, most noticeable along the spine and edges. Binding is tight and square, with no lean. Text block is clean, crisp, and unmarked, with pages bright and only lightly toned consistent with age. No writing, stains, or dog-eared pages observed. Overall, the book appears lightly read, and opens smoothly. Owner's name on tip-in page cut out (see photos) Alien is the classic science-fiction horror novelization of Ridley Scott's landmark 1979 film, expanding the story of the doomed commercial spaceship Nostromo and the lethal creature stalking its crew. Alan Dean Foster deepens the atmosphere and character psychology, translating cinematic terror into a tense, claustrophobic prose narrative that helped define space-horror fiction. Printing identification note: Hardcover editions of Alien were issued concurrently with paperback editions and often lack explicit number lines. This copy is identified as the first hardcover issue by publisher, format, and publication year.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First Printing of the First UK edition. Never an easy book to find and now quite rare. This is a nice copy, tight and square, bumped at all the corners and pushed at the spine tips a little. Text-block toned slightly but commensurate with age only - Macdonald's are/were probably THE WORST publishing house for their use of cheap paper-stock which browns easily but it seems that a better quality paper was used in this case. Free from owner names or stains etc, Very Good at least. The dustjacket is also in VG++ condition with price of £4.95 at the front flap (many copies are unpriced). Minor rubbing to the spine tips and corners, minor creasing along the edges and at the tips. Minor tanning alongside the edges of the inside of the jacket. A nice copy nevertheless, uncommon thus.
