Quarto. 9¾'' x 7½''. Contains 148 + iv pp illustrated with 12 full-page single-sided colour plates and numerous line drawings by Mabel Lucie Attwell throughout. 'The Owner of This Book is' not filled-in, surface marks to the boards, corners rubbed, without any ownership markings or names and in Good condition, no box. Member of the P.B.F.A. The scarce first edition, first issue showing the correct decorated front & rear endpapers, Undated C. 1910, Original publishers box, Original decorated boards & cloth spine, 12 x full page colour plates + numerous black & white illustrations, Box is worn with some loss to sides, Boards are marked & rubbed to edges, Corners bumped, Slight play to front hinge, Inscription to half title dated 1917, Small ink stamp to bottom of Fep, Endpapers lightly browned, Occasional light foxing or minor blemish to pages, One text page with small tear to inner margin, Very occasional crease or minor separation at inner margins. Overall a number of faults but still a good acceptable copy of a rare first edition. Overseas orders may require extra postage costs.

Original pictorial, paper-covered boards, by Lucie Attwell, slightly rubbed and bumped at edges, points of corners well rubbed and rounded. With 12 coloured plates by Attewell, all bright and unmarked, together with numerous in-text line drawn illusts. Edges of the pages spotted. Former ownership name of Isabel Veronica Clark completed in the relevant section of the front pastedown. A delightful early edition with illustrations by Mabel Lucie Attwell.
