They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. First Edition. Near Fine, only the slightest wear. Mass Market Paperback, cover art by Paul Alexander. The assassin known as Algorithm has arrived on a seedy pleasure colony on the edge of the galactic Federation. Gawron, born in France, is an expert on the writings of Samuel R. Delany. This speculative novel is an intellectual space opera and formative example of Cyberpunk. It also develops expansive ideas of linguistics, Gawron being a member of the Department of Linguistics at San Diego State University, with PhD in linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley. "Algorithm" has been compared to William Burroughs' "Naked Lunch," Gene Wolf's "Long Sun," and Chip Delaney's "Dahlgren," and Delaney himself called the novel "witty, heartstomping, and moving." Gawron only wrote three SF novels or he'd probably be a whole lot better known.
