Fourth printing, but SCARCE. Portraits of Richard Wright, Langston Hughes, W.E.B. Du Bois, Joe Louis, Paul Robeson, etc.

Red terracotta cloth over boards with terracotta title in gilt compartments to spine and embossed title in debossed compartment to front board. Pages have spot of soiling to top edge and scuffing to table of contents page, small bump to pages 137-144, and light tanning to margins throughout; lower corner folded and creased at half-title page. Plates remain clean and bright. Text block is sunned paricularly at top edge with moderate scuffing to lower edge and fore edge, and rubbing to corner at lower edge. Boards have circular dampstain to front board, light soiling to edges, black marking to fore edge of rear board and sunning to lower edge. Sunning to spine particularly near spine, spots of soiling to center of spine, and bumping, rubbing and fraying to corners and ends of spine; rubbing to lower edge. Binding is tight and square.
