First Edition
First edition of the author's spiritual examination of moral principles. John Hensley Godwin (1809-1889), a nonconformist philosopher and theologian, served as Professor of New Testament and Moral Philosophy at New College, a congregationalist college in London. Octavo. Original dark green cloth, spine lettered in gilt and ruled in blind, covers with concentric panels blocked in blind, yellow coated endpapers. Light rubbing to extremities, minor bumping to spine ends, slight toning to contents: a near-fine copy.
