An unrecorded early Victorian edition of an…abridgement of the 1649 Douai Catechism, authorised and approved by the Vicars Apostolic following examination by Reverend Robert Richmond of St. Mary's College, Oscott. A prefatory letterpress approbation suggests that this edition, published by R. P Stone and Son of Birmingham, was preceded by an 1827 issue (also unrecorded) approved by six divines led by English Catholic priest, and Vicar Apostolic of London, William Poynter (1762-1827).
