Hardcover. Condition: Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: No DJ - As issued. First Edition. Vintage Pre-War Hardcover with all six fold-outs, First Edition 1902 Spon & Chamberlain New York and London 30 pages plus 6 fold-outs and 16 pages of vintage ads for other technical books. Good+, no DJ - as issued. Moderate shelf/edge wear and dust soiling to green ribbed cloth boards with silver titles on cover and spine - corners bumped with wear to the tips. Previous owner name (dated 1904) in elaborate and beautiful script on the 2nd FFEP. Floral endpapers are unmarked. All pages are somewhat clean except for dust soiling and thumb smudges at the margins. This was caused by the six large fold-outs creating a air pocket for the pages to pick up dust soiling and smudges at the margins. No writing in the text. This was the state of the art in Steam engine technology in 1902. A very respectable First Edition from the beginning of the 20th century.LOC SSE-03.
