Add to basketCondition: Near fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very good. Edward Abbey's copy of this collection of Swift satires with his ownership signature on the front free endpape: "ex libris Abbey." "Abbey" is also written on the bottom face of the text block. Abbey was certainly at turns a satirical writer himself, so a compelling association and influence. Though the piece is not included in this collection, Swift is perhaps best known for his satire "A Modest Proposal" which suggested the Irish sell their children to be eaten, a commentary on population control--interesting aside Abbey's own sometimes controversial thoughts on population growth and immigration. A very near fine book in a very good jacket with some light edge wear and few short tears to upper edge.
