Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Un souvenir de Solferino with an introduction by Major-General Sir John Kennedy. Slim blue cloth hard cover with no cover wear, but some fading of colour at edges. Two illustrations including frontispiece and one further plate, and 64 pages with only very occasional spotting. Unclipped dust jacket, price 6/- net, remains in good condition with several chips/tears mostly at edges. This 1st edition published in 1947 is in very good condition.

He related his experiences at the Battle of Solferino, which eventually inspired him to found The Red Cross, and to initiate the Geneva Conventions, which eventually won him the first Nobel Peace Prize. Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. 1st Edition. Sun-fading to top edges and spine of blue boards. Some edge and corner wear particularly to the bumped top of spine and bottom spine. Some creases along side of spine. Jacket has considerable wear and tear with 1 3/4 inch tear at front bottom and a 1.25 inch tear and fraying along top edge. Two under 1 inch tears on back near to a big chip missing at spine and back - 1.25 inch by .33 inch. Some small stains on front wrap. Sun-fading to jacket spine. Discoloring to end-papers. Some small tears to top of some leaves. (6).

Cloth. Condition: Very Good -. No Jacket. 1939, 95pp, illus., dark blue cloth w/ pastedown to front cover, letter tipped in to front eps, addressed to Percy Lane, from Alexander S. Edmonston (of the Red Cross), slight soiling & shelfwear to cover, no dj, contents clean & unmarked.

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. Dark blue covers with a Red, White and Gold picture of crossed flags and title on the cover. Overall an extremely nice copy of this title.

Condition: fair to good. 95, footnotes, boards somewhat scuffed, discoloration inside front and rear boards. This edition is a translation from the French of the First Edition, published in 1862, and was issued in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the first signing of the Treaty of Geneva, 1864.
