Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Reprint. Undated (c1920s). 13 beautiful colour plates, in a most interesting style, with accompanying verses telling the story of a child's day. 32 pages on heavy card; original tan cloth-backed boards illustrated with a pendulum clock and dandelion flower "clocks" (remember as a child, you blow them until all of the seeds have gone?) design, with large red outlined white title lettering and author lettering in chocolate brown lettering. Book tight and generally clean. Very slight foxing to endpapers and first few/last pages. Corners are worn, board edges have some little rubbing/wear. Small 1/2 inch tear in spine which has been repaired, but spine is sound. The last board has partly detached from its 1/2 inch sleeve that holds it in on both sides and has now been repaired. Very slight and faint water-staining to top LHS of front board. The odd tiny small stain or mark on boards. Some discolouration to the right-hand front endpaper, on the back of which is a partly torn out owner's bookplate (without damaging the page), and a discolouration in the form of a "negative" of the facing title page. The text and plates are FINE. This is a heavy book and may require extra P&P.

Add to basketFIRST EDITION. Folio (37 x 25cm), unpaginated, printed on 16 thick card leaves with 12 fine chromolithographic plates. In publisher's quarter tan cloth with tan paper-covered boards. Titles and clock illustration printed in colour to upper board. With rare original dust-jacket, mirroring upper board. Very light wear to upper fore-edges. Jacket heavily browned, as expected, with some significant chipping to edges, especially upper rear cover edge and the top and bottom edges of the spine, which feature some larger losses. Very good indeed; arguably a near-fine copy considering the rarity of the jacket.
