Characteristically hyperbolic and bizarre, this book contains three novels by prolific humor and fantasy writer Thorne Smith. The Stray Lamb tells the story of an investment banker who is transformed into a series of animals. In Turnabout, Smith devises a classic battle of the sexes between an arguing husband and Egyptian idol. The most blatantly erotic of the collection, Rain in the Doorway, tells of the misadventures of Hector Owen and his colleagues in a big-city department store. Publisher's blindstamped blue cloth, spine lettered and decorated in black, pictorial dustjacket. [6], 698 pp. 7 1/3 x 5 1/8 in. Title page and frontispiece with black-and-white illustrations. Good; dustjacket with some chips and tears, and with old price tag adhered to rear inside flap.
