The film tells the true story of a young back country rock climber (Franco) who becomes trapped under a boulder when he accidentally falls into a crevice near Moab, Utah and faces some agonizing choices in order to survive. It was nominated for six Oscars: Best Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Franco), Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay, Best Achievement in Film Editing, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song, and Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score.
