Add to basket[10], 350 pages. Hardcover: H 23.5cm x L 16.25cm. No dust jacket. Art Deco influenced green pebbled leather binding; unfortunate surface loss to leather at spine heel with much scuffing/wear along joints and at board edges particularly at corners; spine leather quite darkened but with gilt stamping still fairly bright; triangular black leather and gilt stamping to slightly darkened front board; undecorated green rear board slightly darkened with some discoloration occurring along joint margin. All edges gilt; staining and some scuffing loss to bottom edge gilt. Floral patterned endpapers; front and rear free endpapers have strong bands of toning at top, bottom and fore-edge margins caused by respective board's leather overlaps on pastedowns. Brief Acknowledgements essay states "The translation of 'The Princess of Babylon' is by H. I. Woolf . . . The translations of 'Candide,' 'Zadig' and the other romances were done by R.
