Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Poor. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original full leather binding with black label on spine. The book is in extremely poor condition with the front board about to detach along with missing the front end pages and title page. Marbled pastedowns and front and rear with the front pa…stedown containing a label from Hite & Wall's Circulating Library of Winchester, VA. the first page of the book starts with the table of contents and there are also several pages that are detached, mainly in the rear of the book. Part one is Mountain Adventures (356 pages), part two is Great Hunts (297 pages), part three is Wonderful Escapes (308 pages). The rear of book contains four advertisement pages from the publisher along with the signature of the original owner: Ollie Faulkner. Besides the detached pages and missing title page are several pages with heavy chipping along the edges. Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Rust-colored cloth; gilt spine lettering. Hart, the wife of Rev. Dudley Hart, rector of Stretford, Manchester, was a fairly prolific writer. Like many women writing during the Victorian period, she didn't affix her name to her publications, calling herself "A Clergyman's Wife," "The Au…thor of. . .," etc. This work is in verse, a tale of devoted marital love in the face of tragedy, and dedicated to poet and novelist Menella Smedley (1819-1877). Moderate rubbing to cover extremities. Few tiny inkspots to page 81. Otherwise clean and tight. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
