Condition: Hervorragend. Zustand: Hervorragend | Seiten: 274 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | The homilies in this volume were all delivered by Fr. Robert Mitchell Jr., a priest in the Old Catholic tradition, during Masses and Holy Communion services between the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, June 12, 2022 and The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, Sunday 11/26/23 in St. Barachiel Chapel in Richmond, VA. They reflect his Old Catholic stance on matters of faith and his deep appreciation for the "quadriga" -- the four most ancient senses of interpreting scripture -- the literal, allegorical, moral, and mystical. What is an Old Catholic? Old Catholics are not Roman Catholics. They are a small, loosely-associated group of sister churches who split from the Roman Catholic Church starting in the mid-to-late 19th century over various doctrinal and administrative disputes, primarily papal infallibility, the valid appointment of bishops, and particularities of Marian devotion. Because of their similarities to both the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church, Old Catholics often describe themselves as "catholic but not Roman, orthodox but not Eastern.".

The postcards encompass the views from the gardens to Mt. Four of the postcards depict the Siberian and Alaskan Indigenous peoples on display at the Exposition, with images of baby's in furs, and Indigenous Peoples standing in front of A-Y-P pavilions. The printed photo postcard of the Daughters of the American Revolution Building at the A-Y-P includes note on verso addressed to Juanita Shelpman (1896-1974), at the time a daughter of a Port Angeles barber, and later a music teacher in Vancouver, WA, later married to the rather flighty orchestra leader Lewis Kincheloe (1892-1978).
