Used, very good condition, former owner's signature on front end paper, light foxing on endpapers, covers clean, text block crisp so it looks like the former owner did not feel the need to explore the interesting notes about Oriental rugs. Mitchell, Robert A., Furniture Co. SOME INTERESTING NOTES ABOUT ORIENTAL RUGS. N. d. 76 p., 23 black and white illlustrations, fig., 19 x 13 cm. Most of the text is identify to a 1903 book with the same title published by the Karagheusian importing firm, who allowed its retail rug dealers to use it with suitable revisions to give to their customers. The revision consists of a two page introduction describing the Mitchell Furniture company. Most of the text describes town and areas in Persia and Turkey, and what is being currently made (in 1903) in them. There are much smaller section on Turkmen ("Bokhara", Afghan- Kiva, Yamoud and Belouchistan) and the Caucasus. About half of the illustrations are of people and scenery. Useful for seeing what importers were saying about the rug trade at the turn of the last century. Book.

They are a small, loosely-associated group of sister churches who split from the Roman Catholic Church starting in the mid-to-late 19th century over various doctrinal and administrative disputes, primarily papal infallibility, the valid appointment of bishops, and particularities of Marian devotion. Because of their similarities to both the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church, Old Catholics often describe themselves as "catholic but not Roman, orthodox but not Eastern.".

4to. 9 x 10.5 in. [80 pp (unpaginated).], on thick black paper, w/ slot inserts in each leaf for holding four postcards back-to-back. With 82 colour-printed, black & white printed photo, chromolithograph & 1 suede-leather postcards. Padded faux alligator skin black cloth, rounded corners, gilt lettering stamped on front cover (slight shelfwear, occasional minor rubbing & creasing to a couple of the postcards), still a NF exemplar. A marvelous postcard souvenir album filled with postcards assembled by a young Port Angeles teenager, chronicling the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. The postcards encompass the views from the gardens to Mt. Rainier, the Alaska Monument 7 Hawaii Building, Arctic Brotherhood Building, Canadian Government Building, the Emergency Hospital Building, Machinery Hall, Manufactures Building, Forestry Building, many of the States Buildings, and courts. In addition, there are views of the Japanese Building, the "Tokio Cafe" leading to the Japanese Village, Nanaimo Building, and a number of nighttime shots of the Exposition. Four of the postcards depict the Siberian and Alaskan Indigenous peoples on display at the Exposition, with images of baby's in furs, and Indigenous Peoples standing in front of A-Y-P pavilions. The printed photo postcard of the Daughters of the American Revolution Building at the A-Y-P includes note on verso addressed to Juanita Shelpman (1896-1974), at the time a daughter of a Port Angeles barber, and later a music teacher in Vancouver, WA, later married to the rather flighty orchestra leader Lewis Kincheloe (1892-1978).
