Excerpt: The purpose of this introductory article is to discuss the experimental uncertainty analysis of a derived quantity, based on the uncertainties in the experimentally measured quantities that are used in some form of mathematical relationship ('model') to calculate that derived quantity. The model used to convert the measurements into the derived quantity is usually based on fundamental principles of a science or engineering discipline. The uncertainty has two components, namely, bias (related to accuracy) and the unavoidable random variation that occurs when making repeated measurements (related to precision). The measured quantities may have biases, and they certainly have random variation, so that what needs to be addressed is how these are 'propagated' into the uncertainty of the derived quantity. Uncertainty analysis is often called the 'propagation of error.' It will be seen that this is a difficult and in fact sometimes intractable problem when handled in detail. Fortunately, approximate solutions are available that provide very useful results, and these approximations will be discussed in the context of a practical experimental example. Auszug: Alter Pasinger Bahnhof, Zustand 2008Der Bahnhof München-Pasing (S-Bahn-Halt: Pasing) ist ein im Westen Münchens im Stadtteil Pasing gelegener Fernverkehrsbahnhof mit neun Bahnsteiggleisen und fünf bahnsteiglosen Durchgangsgleisen, die den Bahnhof von Ost-Südost nach West-Nordwest durchqueren. Westlich des Bahnhofs befindet sich ein Betriebsbahnhof zur Zugbereitstellung für den Münchner Hauptbahnhof, östlich ein Güterbahnhof. Der Bahnhof hat ein Einzugsgebiet von etwa 400.000 Einwohnern und wird täglich von über 85.000 Ein-, Aus- und Umsteigern frequentiert zu denen noch ca. 40.000 Benutzer der Unterführung kommen, die diese als Stadtteilverbindung nutzen. Nachdem 1839 die erste Münchner Eisenbahnstrecke von München nach Lochhausen errichtet worden war, bekam die am westlichen Münchner Stadtrand gelegene Gemeinde Pasing anlässlich der Verlängerung der bestehenden Strecke von Lochhausen nach Augsburg am 7. Oktober 1840 einen eigenen, aus zwei Bretterbuden bestehenden Haltepunkt. Erst am 21. Mai 1854, zur Eröffnung der Linie nach Starnberg, die sich in Pasing von der Strecke Richtung Lochhausen trennt, wurde der Haltepunkt zu einem Bahnhof aufgewertet und erhielt im Süden der Gleisanlagen ein von Friedrich Bürklein entworfenes, backsteinernes Stationsgebäude. Bürklein hatte zuvor bereits den Münchner Hauptbahnhof sowie das Maximilianeum und die Backsteingebäude der Maximilianstraße entworfen. Dieses Bahnhofsgebäude, ein zweigeschossiger Bau mit zwei Seitenflügeln und einer Wartehalle, ist der älteste noch erhaltene Bahnhof in Oberbayern. Als nur kurze Zeit später mit dem Bau einer weiteren Bahnlinie von München in Richtung Westen nach Buchloe begonnen wurde, musste 1873 der Bahnhof auch aufgrund des starken Wachstums der Gemeinde auf sechs Gleise mit 25 Wärterhäuschen erweitert werden. Damit einher ging der Bau eines neuen, größeren Empfangsgebäudes. Die Orgelgeschichte des Ulmer Münsters beginnt 1414, als ein ¿orglenmaister¿ in der Stadt steuerpflichtig war. 1433 vollendete Meister Ludwig aus Breslau in der Liebfrauenkirche (Münster) zwei Orgeln. Die in Teilen älteste Orgel Oberschwabens ist die Chororgel der kath. Pfarrkirche St. Maria auf Schloss Zeil. Um 1609 erhielt ¿Meister Daniel wegen der Orgel¿ 36 Gulden und 38 Kreuzer. Vermutlich ist das Daniel Hayl aus Irsee, der in der Region mehrmals gearbeitet hat. Die Glanzzeit des oberschwäbischen Orgelbaus ist das 18. Jahrhundert. Hier entstanden in den Klöstern prächtige Orgeln, von denen sechs Werke überwiegend original erhalten sind. Es sind die beiden Gabler-Orgeln in Weingarten und Ochsenhausen, drei Orgeln von Johann Nepomuk Holzhey in Obermarchtal, Rot an der Rot und Weißenau (zwei weitere Instrumente von Holzhey sind in Neresheim und Ursberg erhalten).
