Black leather title and author labels on the spine; some wear and rubbing to the boards. Front board is slightly flared outward. Marbled endpapers and page edges. Some fo…xing to title page and frontispiece, but the rest of the book has very little foxing. Foldout map of the 1798 plan of the City of New Orleans after the end of the History at page 412. The map has one tear at the edge where it is attached. Pages 413 to 469 contain the Annals and Appendix, with the Contents listing at the rear comprising 16 pages. Originally published in two volumes in 1827, this edition is the first reissue of thar original.

Good + dark green cloth hardcover shows bumping and light tearing at spine ends, bumping to corners, rubbing and soil to covers, browned frontispiece tissue, foxing to endpapers and occasional bit of same to text block, ownership marks at reverse of front endpaper,… there are also notes at top and bottom of illustrated plate (Eugenie Empress of France) at rear of book with notes continuing to full of reverse of endpaper. 420 pages. Solid copy of this hard to find edition of these mainly Civil War recollections.
