Denn Le Corbusier lieferte sowohl mit der Ville Contemporaine als auch mit der Ville Radieuse komplette Lösungsansätze sowohl für die Städte, als auch für die dazugehörige Gesellschaft. Humanitäre Aspekte bilden mit autoritären, antidemokratischen Ideen einen seltsamen Kontrast. Dies ändert freilich nichts an der Tatsache, dass seine Richtlinien, vor allem zur Funktionstrennung, letztlich zu einer Verarmung des städtischen Umfelds führen. Städtebau lässt sich ebenso wenig auf allgemeine Prinzipien reduzieren wie eine Stadt aus ihrem geschichtlichen Hintergrund gelöst werden kann.
