Importante commentario giuscriminalistico di Antonius Matthaeus (1635-1710), professore a Leida ed Utrecht ed autore di opere dalla vasta circolazione in tutta Europa.

Condition: molto buono. 8 volumi in-4, leg. orig. cartone rustico (ma I vol. privo del piatto ant.). Illustrati da 2 vignette, 2 testate, 5 tavole fuori testo, il tutto inc. in rame. (mancante purtroppo di ritratto dell'A., frontespizio calcografico e 1 tavola ripiegata). I tomi I-V sono in prima edizione (Losanna 1757-1769), i tomi VI-VIII sono della seconda edizione, o fedele ristampa, di Losanna (1777-78), come è pure evidente in altri esemplari in biblioteche pubbliche e private. Famosa opera che espone in dettaglio le conoscenze della scienza fisiologica al tempo dell'autore, celebre medico svizzero (Berna 1798-1777), professore per molti anni all'università di Gottinga, di vasta esperienza teorica e pratica in fisiologia, patologia e anatomia. Esemplare a pieni margini, puro e ben conservato. Garrison-Morton, n.588: ''Haller synthrsized the whole physiological knowledge of his time. Condition: Molto buono (Very Good). In 8° piccolo (mm 171x100); pp. 246. Cartone Ottocentesco con titolo in oro al dorso (dorso scolorito e con piccole mancanze). Manca l'angolino bianco superiore esterno di p. 243, ma la conservazione e' ottima. Prima edizione in francese. Dopo l'edizione latina del 1766, comparve a Parigi nel 1767 una traduzione francese che mandò il Tissot su tutte le furie a causa della sua pessima qualità e dei tagli arbitrari. Egli decise allora di pubblicare la sua traduzione con correzioni ed aggiunte. L'opera contiene naturalmente una quantità di prescrizioni dietetiche. Interessante.
