Condition: Good. London: George Bell & Sons, 1904. 12mo hardcover in full teal leather. With beautiful and vibrant floral gilt decoration to inside edge of boards. Four raised bands to spine, with gilt titling in second compartment. TEG, and lightly marbled endpapers. [xi]+552pp. Near very good book. Boards lightly shelfworn; top corners bumped and some scuffing to bottom edge. Spine quite sunned, and light sunning to top edge. Titling gilt faded. Spotting and light toning to page edges. Front hinge paper cracked. Lovely bookplate to front pastedown, along with small early bookseller's label. Interior lightly foxed but otherwise clean. From the library of American author, columnist, journalist, and presidential speechwriter William Safire. (literature, poem, poetry) Inquire if you need further information.
