Original wrappers bound-in. Front endpaper has an old newspaper clipping of the auction while opposite page has original, type-written letter bound-in. Letter is from New York Galleries of 389 Fifth Avenue to Durand-Ruel, addressed to Dr. J.E. Stillwell and concerning the authenticity and value of two Van Dyck paintings, a Jordaens and two Nicolas Maes works. Signed, but signature is illegible. Approx. 10lbs for shipping. Good+ (boards scuffed w/ light red discolored smudges & rubs; rubbed edge-wear. lower spine has a large, approx 2x2inch square removed w/ tattered & rubbed edges; binding backstrip visible. leather spine plate harshly rubbed; variously legible. corners rubbed. front board slightly ratttled; hinges & binding appear intact. tissue-guards oxidized).

Nell'antiporta incisa: Histoire du gouvernement de Venise et l'Examen de la liberté, inoltre: Sur la copie imprimée à Paris, 1677. Bella legatura coeva in mezza pelle con titoli, filetti oro e nervi al dorso. Una cuffia restaurata. Lievi tracce del tempo e arrossature sparse ad alcune pagine, ma nel complesso buon esemplare. Edizione in francese assai gradevole e completa delle 28 incisioni fuori testo. Al sesto volume manca l'indice dei capitoli, presente invece in tutti gli altri. Book.
