Contact seller5-star sellerSoft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. The Book of Perfection: Sub Figura Liber 440 is a 1977 occult text focused on Thelemic rituals. Attributed to "666 and the Scribe 777" and published by 93 Publishing in a limited edition of 718 hand numbered copies, of which this is No. 177. The first 93 were on handmade paper, the rest, including this copy, were printed on Carlyle Japan paper with a lovely deckle edge. Text printed in black and red. Pictorial softcovers, color illustrations. Condition is Good. Discoloration and rubbing on the cover and spine, wear on the cover edges, corner damage. Interior of the covers are stained. Spine is tight, interior pages are undamaged. The pervious owner's name and book stamp are on the interior cover. The author describes the contents thus: "During the four day period of January 5, 6, 7, & 8th, Year 71 of the Aeon of Horus, the scribe 777 received through direct invocation a five-part treatise entitled 'The Book of Codes-Liber 718', the revealed comment to Aleister Crowley's 'The Book of the Law' and later 'The Book of Oz' Together these make up "The Book of Perfection, aka the Fourth Chapter of Liber AL." The 'Scribe 777' is often identified as ex-Kenneth Grant initiate Peter Macfarlane, but we are reliably informed that it was actually James Charles Beck, also known as Jimmy Rocket. The book was somewhat poorly received in Thelemic circles, and copies are now quite scarce. …
