The book is a collection of humorous and farcical plays drawing upon influences from notable works like 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'The Taming of the Shrew'. The book's most significant play, "Representing Barrett, Cox Co.", tells the story of Jack Carter, a travelling salesman, who finds himself mistaken for a British Duke. Carter plays along with the misunderstanding, hoping to sell his line of omelette tins to the Duke's family. However, he soon finds himself embroiled in a murder mystery and must work to solve the crime before he's exposed as a fake. This book of classic comedies of mistaken identity and romantic entanglements will appeal to lovers of witty and entertaining theater.
