Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the tenets of Catholicism that the author says were deliberately abandoned during the Reformation. The author's examination centers around the Pope's authority, the Holy Mass, the priesthood, and the Church by law established. Highlighting how these principles were rebuilt after the Reformation with Lutheran and Calvinistic influences, the book argues that central beliefs held by the original Church have been rejected, especially those that defined the priesthood. The author notes that this reconstruction led to a new form of ordination as part of the Elizabethan Religious Settlement. This book reveals vital points of departure for better understanding the differences between Catholic and Protestant Christianity.
