James `Jimmy Boy' Walker was born on the Scotch Block (near Carluke, Ontario) in 1846. In 1974, he signed on with D Troop (NWMP) under Major Walsh as part of the NWMP contingent on its way to western Canada. His farm background served him well in service at such locales as Wood Moutain, Fort Macleod, Cripple Camp, Fort Qu' Appelle, Battleford, and Calgary. Section of b/w photos at center assist text. LEARN about : Jerry Potts, Gore Militia, Commissioner French, Duck Lake and Chief Beardy. 171 pages plus short bio sketch and including INDEX. Cond : Paper wrapper is blue with silver lettering. Front cover is dominated by a dramatic photo portrait of Walker - circa 1898. Slightest of wear at some edges and corners. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. Clean. Colours bright. Giftable !
