Leather bound. Condition: Fine. Limited edition of True Compass: A Memoir by Senator Edward M. Kennedy. (illustrator). Limited Edition. Octavo, x, 532pp, [2]. Publisher's blue leather, title in gilt on spine, with raised bands and gilt embellishments. All edges gilt. Illustrated endpapers. Stated "Special Limited Edition: October 2009" on copyright page. Publisher's matching blue cloth slipcase. Includes the original purchase receipts. From a limited edition of 1000 copies, this one numbered 121. This copy is "electronically signed" on the limitation page by Ted Kennedy. This final work from Senator Ted Kennedy was published in October of 2009, two months after his death. This "special edition" was limited to 1000 copies, each selling for $1,000, from the Hachette Book Group. The publisher advertised the book as "electronically signed" by Kennedy, a detail which was missed by many collectors. Senator Kennedy received an $8 million advance on the book, with sales of the "special edition" attempting to recoup their costs. (New York Times, Motoko Rich, 2009). Signed.
