The author carried out experiments in the three Northern Counties, at local stations, and on other farms. The experiments focus on the use of various artificial fertilizers and manures with different crops, including swedes, potatoes, and hay. The author shares their findings on the ideal quantities of nitrogen, phosphates, and potash, along with the most effective combinations to maximize crop yields. The author also provides information on the impact of these fertilizers on the quality and nutrient content of the crops grown. The experiments detailed in this book provide valuable information for both historic and modern farming practices and are helpful to anyone interested in agricultural practices of the early 1900s.
