Soft cover. Condition: Good +. Very good condition, pages tanned around the edges but clean and unmarked apart from previous owner's name handwritten at top of first page. Spine faded, some small creases on cover. First published 1949, this translation in 1953. De Beauvoir's great study of women has become a modern classic. She looks at women from a scholarly standpoint, but from many aspects - biological, historical, sociological, psychological, literary and mythological. It remains unassailable in its reach and depth - and it's still very readable!
