The mechanisms of rock destruction by explosion in a water-saturated environment and the influence of hydrogeological factors-water content, pore pressure, and filtration processes-on blasting efficiency and pit slope stability are analyzed.On the basis of a complex of theoretical studies, laboratory experiments, and engineering-geological observations, the features of the stress-strain state of water-saturated rocks under explosive impact were identified. Zoning of the quarry field was performed according to the degree of water content, which allowed for the substantiation of rational parameters of drilling and blasting operations for various conditions. Technological solutions have been developed for working in water-filled boreholes, including charge designs using absorbent materials and hydrogels. The results of industrial tests confirmed a reduction in explosive consumption, a decrease in charge failures, and an increase in the economic efficiency of operations.
