Faint corner and edge wear in almost new condition, dual stapled oblong 24 x 16.5 cm, illustrated stiff wraps. Exhibit catalog, 6 Feb through 3 May 2012, University Art Gallery, SDSU. Artist statement excerpt: "The 120,000 tags represented lost dreams, shattered lives, and displaced individuals who were singled out for "looking like the enemy." The process of replicating these tags using government databases, writing thousands of names, numbers, and camp locations, became a meditative process. The hundreds of volunteers, like myself, as they wrote the name of an internee, could contemplate and wonder what this person was thinking. And could it happen again? . Hopefully my art succeeds in melding the four areas of art, advocacy, education, and community." Organized and introduced by Tina Yapelli; critical essays by Hasegawa and McBane. As a bonus laid in there is the Manzanar brochure map (20 panels 21 x 10 cm, GPO 2015 edition) and three tag reproductions from the National Park Service at the Manzanar National Historic Site. Book.
