Many photos and facsimiles of documents. Lots of material from the 'coffee houses era' and the great days of Britain's dominant position in international financial ser…vices. I think the proper term for this impressive volume is royal octavo (7 x 10 ins). Forty-five illus and three line drawings. Condition: a heavy book set in remarkably big type (18 point?). Well-kept with no damage or even wear to the dark red cloth of the binding, (the spine is a bit bleached). Attractive coat-of-arms embossed in gilt on front cover.
