Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good-. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. The book is in Near Fine condition with a Very Good- price clipped dust jacket that has some wear, some tearing and pulling to the laminate. This book is the novelization of the Oscar award winning movie On the Waterfront - Schulberg was the writer and screenwriter of the movie prior to this novelized form. The movie featured Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, Eva Marie Saint, Rod Steiger and many more. "His most famed writing What Makes Sammy Run? Allowed the public to see the harshness of Hollywood stardom via Sammy Glick's Cinderella story that does not end happily ever after. This novel was criticized by some as being self-directed antisemitism. In 1950, Schulberg published The Disenchanted, about a young screenwriter who collaborates on a screenplay about a college winter festival with a famous novelist at the nadir of his career. The novelist (who was then assumed by reviewers to be a thinly disguised portrait of Fitzgerald, who had died ten years earlier) is portrayed as a tragic and flawed figure, with whom the young screenwriter becomes disillusioned. The novel was the 10th bestselling novel in the United States in 1950." (from Wikipedia).

First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. So these are two booklets that were published by the Overbrook Press. Only 1000 copies of each of the booklets were produced. The first 'Woodrow Wilson: Addresses Upon The Occasion Of His Ninety-Second Birthday Anniversary December 28, 1948' was published in 1949. It has an Introductory Note by Julie d'Estournelles who was the Executive Director of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation. It is in excellent condition. The covers are very clean and they have only very light edge wear. The interior of the book looks pretty much perfect. There are 37 pages followed by two blank rear end papers. The book begins with a blank front end paper followed by the half-title page followed by the title page. All the pages are exceptionally clean. I didn't see any soiling anywhere. There are no conspicuous creases. There are no markings. There are no attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. It's a terrific condition. The addresses are by John Foster Dulles, Sumner Welles, The Voice of America, Adlai E. Stevenson, and Allen W. Dulles. The second booklet titled 'Woodrow Wilson in Perspective' is written by Charles Seymour. He was President Emiritus of Yale University. It was published in 1956. On the copyright page it states 'Reprinted with permission of Foreign Affairs.' Inside this book there is a small card which states 'Presented with the compliments of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation.' Here again the condition of the book is quite good. The covers are clean with just a few white specks on the rear. There is only light edge wear. The interior of the book is in very nice condition. The pages are very clean. I don't see any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. This booklet is a little shorter. There are 21 pages. The middle page edge through to page 13 is jagged. On the rest of the pages it is smooth. One wonders if the separating of the pages was done by two different people. In any event, the jaggedness is far from the print.
