A previous owner, who was a soldier in General Patrick's division when he was killed in the Phillipines, has written marginal notes and underlined a few pages. He has also written 2 1/2 pages on additional notes which have been laid in. (These notes he has keyed to pages in the text). Brand New Book, Never Read, taken out of shrinkwrap to write this description, and immediately housed the dust jacket in an archival quality cover. Green covers with gold lettering on the spine. In a letter to the reader the author states that there is a shortage of critical studies of those men who commanded and led our combat divisions in World War II. Patrick was one of only three division commanders to die as a result of combat action in WW II. The goal of the author is to bring in sharper focus those factors that set him and his fellow 139 division commanders apart from their contemporaries who were not selected for division command. A very nice copy for the condition conscious buyer.
