In orig. cloth, fraying at spine ends (.5 cm.), soiled with a dusty appearance on covers and top edge, and to a lesser extent on outer edge. Fading on spine and joints, lettering on spine faded. Outline of a small square (1.5 x 1.5 cm.) visible on spine. (Possibly a label was removed leaving no residue, only a lighter hue). Owner's bookplate on front pastedown, foxing on prelims. (including frontis. color plate) and final leaves. Some foxing on engraved map, and foxing on plates (moderate on 3, splotches on others), occasional stains in text, but most text pages are clean. Copy has been used but is not very worn and is otherwise in good condition. Note: this is a heavy book and will incur additional international shipping charges.
