The stories are all there & the illustrations are lovely, but the exterior is in sad shape: rear board completely detached, heavy rubbing & fraying, soil & spotting. Author's name spelled wrong to front. Interior is generally clean, with many scattered smudge & small stains throughout, but no writing or underlining! No date, but OCLC estimates 1887. Pictorial endpapers at front and back in monochromatic green feature idyllic scene of couple in canoe while three in sports uniforms stand on river bank gazing up at an early machine of flight, similar to a Wright Fliyer bi-plane, in the air and large ranch rock house on hill in b.g. Bind fine; hinges intact. Illustrated with over two hundred illustrations by Harrison Weir, V. Pedersen, M. L. Stone, A. W. Bayes, and others. Several richly colored plates throughout.
