Vintage publicity portrait photograph of Marlene Dietrich from the 1930 film. Annotations in manuscript pencil on the verso. Based on Benny Vigny's 1927 novel "Amy Jolly, die Frau aus Marrakesch," an autobiographical story based on his own experiences in Marrakesh while serving in the French Foreign Legion. The film is today best remembered for a scene in which Dietrich performs in a man's tailcoat and kisses another woman. Nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Dietrich. Set in Mogador. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine. National Film Registry.
