VG "Edition de luxe" The Army Pageant was held as a display of British military might down the centuries and to rais efunds for a military charity. The book carries the scripts of the series of episodes used to illustrate scenes from historical battles and also includes notes on the armour and weaponry of each period. The trade edition was bound in blue cloth but this edition, limited to 500 copies (this is no. 201) was signed by one of the editors (AT Craig) and bound black morocco leather with gold lettering. The front carries a colour vignette of a horseman and the Union Flag. There are patterned gold endpapers with gold tooling around the inside edges of the boards and the top edge is gilt. There are 13 plates, 5 of them in colour. The covers are lightly scuffed in places and have rubbed corners but the binding is solid and the gilt remains bright. The pages are lightly browned around the margins but otherwise the book is very good throughout. Very rare in this edition. Signed by Author(s).
