Spine is sunned and beginning to fray at the head cap. Outer edges of the text block are toned. The text is toned but clean and sound. Prior owner's signature on the front flyleaf reads, "J. H. McEwen / Burlington, N.C." Oval ink stamp beneath reads, "Private Library of J. H. McEwen." This is James Henry McEwen, who lived from 1894-1946. He graduated from Davidson College in 1914 and was a school teacher and principal in Burlington, North Carolina.
