Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Elephant size folio, hand signed and dated 9-11-52, the year of publication, by Tretchikoff on the first page. In stiff card covers with front title in heavy gilt. 12 beautifully produced colour prints as raised plates on full page, including the large plate on the front of the dust wrapper. Each print has a detailed text description. Book itself in very good condition. Iconic paintings such as two versions of The Dying Swan featuring a swan and ballerina Alicia Markova, and the 1960s bestseller Fighting Cocks, are featured among the plates. One of the Dying Swan plates has a small stain on the side of the card on which it is mounted, NOT affecting the colour plate. The dust jacket is now protected in thick plastic without tape and has the large colour plate self-portrait and is slightly rubbed. There is a closed tear along the spine. The blank front flap is missing. However in its protective cover, the dust jacket still presents well. Don't feel bad if you are buying this just for the 12 prints for framing. The ring binding implies that this was a possiblity for any original buyer! Further photographs of any particular plate on request:Self-Portrait x 2, Blue Monday ( another third self-portrait ), Dying Swan x 2, Herb Seller, Lotuses, Fighting Cocks, Cock-Fighter, Red Cannas, The Weeping Rose, and Cape Malay Bride.
